Rigorous Academic Program

SES has served Alice and surrounding communities as the area’s premier alternative to public education since 1949.  The school works collaboratively with families to develop a well-rounded foundation of academics, character, confidence, and discipleship.  We believe that this focus will position our students for future success.  We take great pride in our alumni, many of whom have gone on to serve as professionals and leaders within our immediate community and beyond.  

Our academic program recognizes the importance of developing 21st-century skills that will support student success in the future.  Core competencies such as collaboration, digital literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving are embedded in the instructional program.  Students in grades 2 through 6 have individual Chromebooks for online access to learning.  Our experienced staff has been trained in STREAM.  This holistic educational approach integrates Science, Technology, Religion, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

SES is blessed with an active parent volunteer community that brings various professional expertise to benefit the school and students.  Students have the opportunity to participate in parent lead groups for chess, art, and broadcasting.
